A keno game is a number-draw game: you pick spots from 1 to 80, 20 numbers are drawn at random, and your payout depends on how many of your spots were drawn. Casinos usually set the board at 80 numbers and 20 draws, and each one sets its own paytable. The card game rules that carry across table games do not apply here, because keno has no cards, only picks against a draw.
How a keno game round runs
- Choose your spots, the numbers you back.
- Set your stake for the round.
- The game draws 20 numbers from the 80, by ball machine or random number generator.
- Count how many of your spots were drawn, called your catch.
- Read the paytable for your spot count and catch to see the payout.
Odds by number of spots
The chance that all of your spots are among the 20 drawn is a plain count of combinations out of 80. This table shows it for 1 to 10 spots.
| Spots picked | Chance every spot is drawn | Roughly 1 in |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 25% | 4 |
| 2 | 6.01% | 16.6 |
| 3 | 1.39% | 72 |
| 4 | 0.306% | 326 |
| 5 | 0.0645% | 1,551 |
| 6 | 0.0129% | 7,753 |
| 7 | 0.0024% | 40,979 |
| 8 | 0.0004% | 230,115 |
| 9 | 0.0001% | 1,380,688 |
| 10 | 0.00001% | 8,911,711 |
Each extra spot divides the chance of a full hit by a larger and larger number, which is why paytables pay much more for a full catch on 10 spots than on 2.
Hitting at least one spot
Hitting every spot is the hardest result. Hitting at least one is far likelier: 25% with 1 spot, 43.99% with 2, 58.35% with 3, 69.17% with 4 and 77.28% with 5. This is why many paytables pay small amounts for partial catches, and how often any prize lands is the idea behind hit frequency meaning in games.
Why paytables differ
Each casino sets its own keno paytable, so the same catch can pay differently from one version to the next. This page gives no payout figure for that reason. Open the rules screen for the version you play and read the paytable for your spot count before you stake.
For a worked example with round numbers, a ₱20 stake across 20 rounds is ₱400, and no paytable changes how many of those rounds miss entirely.
Other counting games
| Game | Random element | Your decision |
|---|---|---|
| Keno | 20 numbers drawn from 80 | Which spots to back |
| Fan Tan (beads) | Beads left after counting by fours, 1 in 4 each | Which of 4 numbers to back |
| Red Dog | A third card from the 50 left | Whether to raise |
Keno draws numbers, while the Fan Tan game with its bead count turns a handful of objects into one of four outcomes, and Red Dog spread payouts hinge on a third card. If a lobby lists a keno title, find it with the lobby’s search box.
Play only if you are 21 or older.

FAQ
How does a keno game work?
You choose spots from 1 to 80 and set a stake. The game draws 20 numbers, you count how many of your spots match, and the paytable sets what that count pays.
What are the odds of hitting every spot in keno?
With a single spot it is 25%. With five spots it is about 0.0645%, roughly 1 in 1,551, and with ten spots about 1 in 8.9 million.
Mas maganda ba ang maraming spots sa keno?
More spots can pay more for a big match, but a full hit gets much rarer with each spot. Paytables differ by casino, so read the rules screen.
Can a keno strategy beat the draw?
No. The 20 numbers are drawn at random, so no pattern of picks changes your chance.
